Wing Ho being considered as one of the most influential and respected violist and conductor of China, has win a title for himself known as effective orchestra coach. Mr. Ho is the Artistic Director and conductor of the 18 Plus Ensemble, National Prodigies Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Peking University, Beijing Viola Ensemble, Beijing 101 School Orchestra, and Renda High School Symphony Orchestra. The ensembles he led have toured many countries including Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Japan, Korea, Thailand and the USA. The ensembles have won many competitions around world and won him great reviews by critics and colleagues.

Mr. Ho is currently Chairman of the Viola Department of the Central Conservatory of Music and is internationally known as a brilliant virtuoso violist. Ho also has extensive performance experience as a chamber musician and principal violist with numerous major orchestras and in festivals around the world.

Ho is frequently invited to give viola master-classes and orchestra coaches in major music schools, such as Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, and conservatories in China. Ho has categorized, re-edited and published over 100 volumes of chamber music repertories and viola literature. He is also distributed recorded CDs and demonstrations on video worldwide.

Ho received his master’s degree from Yale University, majored in Violin and Viola performance and Conducting. He is also studied in computer science, graphic design, and business management, and studied at the Baroque Performance Institute in the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers include Otto-Werner Mueller, Joseph Gingold, Ma Sihon, Stanley Ritchie, Walter Trampler, Leonard Mogill and Jesse Levine.

Ho has received China’s top awards which are the “National Teacher’s Award” in 2004, 2005China New Century Ability Award, and recent award in 2007 “The Beijing Best Music Teacher Award”. He is now the visiting professor at Yale University and president of the China Viola Society.
