Sally Ng

Horn

  Sally Ng started her French horn training at her age of 15 with Mr. Simon Yau at Music Office. Hereafter, she joined the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra. From 1989, she participated in the Hong Kong Music Festival and won an award in the class of French horn solo in three consecutive years. She also won the overall championship.

  Sally entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts 1993 and received her Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma. Her teachers included Joe Kirtley, Kim Kelly and Homer Lee.

  During the time of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, she was also active in chamber music and was coached by Margaret Lynn and Margaret Crawford. In addition, she also attended the master class by Michael Thompson, Frank Lloyd and the American French horn Quartet, and attained the high praise. After graduation, she was invited by the Hong Kong Temporary Urban Council to have her debut recital in the Young Musicians series. Sally frequently participates in the City Chamber of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She also made a guest principal and instructor with the Penang Symphony Orchestra in Malaysia.
