Law Siu Yi

Olivia

  Law Siu Yi, Olivia was borned in Hong Kong (China) where she started to study horn with Joe Kirtley, the former hornist in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and the current lecturer at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

  In 1999 and 2000 she played two public recitals and graduated with Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma in Performing Arts(Music).

  She taught French horn from 1998 to 2004. She also took horn lessons with Homer Lee, the current third horn in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra before she went to Lugano(Switzerland) to study. She also participated in some masterclasses of the American Horn Quartet, Frank Lloyd, Timothy Brown and Michael Thompson.

  She played horn in some orchestras such as The New Philarmonia of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, The Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Arcadia Orchestra(Switzerland), Orchestra da camera di Lugano (Switzerland). Orchestra del Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland).

  When she was studying in Hong Kong and Switzerland, she also worked with several famous conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Joseph Silverstein, George Tintner, Alfred Reed, Lu Jia and Krijn Koetsveld.

  She studied with Professor David W. Johnson, member of the American Horn Quartet and Sandro Ceccarelli, the first horn of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano G. Verdi from 2004 to 2007 and graduated with Performance Diploma.
